Default OK to use tapered lug nuts on flat washer type wheels?

The Titan wheels that I bought look like they use the flat washer type of lug nuts that a lot of factory wheels use. I still have my tapered lugs from my old wheels....is it ok to use those or should I get a set of the flat washer type?

Get the flat washer kind, I just got a set of factory wheels for my Lexus that had aftermarket wheels with tapered threads and when I put them on I could feel the wobble. I got a complete set of OEM lug nuts for $30 off ebay, they shouldn't be too hard to find. The factory lug nuts have that acorn style mount (flat) and that gap between the wheels and studs is going to increase with time and pressure with a tapered nut.

Will GM OEM work? I planned on reusing mine on the Titans, even with the black caps.

I just tried to get some washer type lug nuts and they don't make them in a size that fits. I'll take a pic of the wheel later - the guy at Discount seemed to think that the Titans use an acorn style tapered lug nut from the factory.

I took the wheels by Discount Tire today and they told me that my existing acorn style tapered lug nuts will work fine.
