over spray...pissed off! how to remove?

Clay bar will get it off, but thinner is way easier. What color is the truck? If it is remotely dark, if you clay bar you have to light machine polish after to rid the scratches. Thinner on a microfiber and you don't have to.
Straight edge blade on the windows will work the best, automotive grade steel wool would work too.

I (just my opinion) would be a bit skeptical about applying thinner on paint, on the glass it should be fine. As for the paint, like others have stated, the clay bar will work, slowly. Also polishing, maybe a mild abrasive rubbing compound. Just my 2 cents!

Clay is specifically designed for this exact purpose and it will minimize the chances you'll do any damage to the paint. Its something you can easily do in a few hours in your own driveway. Rather than letting some dealer hack job screw your paint up take matters into your own hands and fix it right.
A new truck should be clayed immediately anyways, its bombarded with all manner of contamination as it travels from the plant to the dealer and while it sits on the lot, just the carbon metallic and diesel soot from when its on the trailer will be stuck all over the paint and will not come off with washing. So even without the overspray issue you should have probably done this anyways.

i have used clay before but this is something the dealer messed up and i want them to pay for it. i've only used clay for tree sap and other stuff. never had to deal with over spray.
i think i will be lodging a formal complaint with gm in the morning.
#1-larger scratch on body molding on new truck
#2-painted body molding-did not look right-had a haze-guy buffed too much and burned clear
#3-molding painted again-over spray
#4-dealer gave me detailers name and number-detailer has not returned my call-two calls over two days
#5-calling gm to lodge formal complaint-owned truck 2 weeks as of tomorrow and everyday something on some level has been wrong with it.
am i wrong?????????????

GM's customer service division used to be pretty intense, and would push the dealership into taking care of the customer. Not sure if that's still the case, but I'd guess that it is.
Make sure that you not only explain in detail why you are dis-satisfied, but also outline your expectations that will satisfy you. You must define what it will take for them to satisfy you.
Good luck, I'm sure it will be made right.

Dude, sorry to hear all this... what a pain in the butt... especially when all you want to do is enjoy your new truck!
Hopefully they get you straightened out, if not hit me up and I'll help you figure out a solution. Even if you don't want to DIY I can refer you to a guy in the area who could definitely help you out.
