Default Paint or Powdercoat?

I have a set of chrome wheels that I want to make all black. I talked to a powdercoader at one point and they said they can not guarantee that the chromw will not buble up while in the oven, so with that said would it be better to have them painted and cleared? Has anyone here had there chrome wheels powdercoated?

I would think that a reputable powder coater would sandblast them first, then do the coat. Def make sure there blasted b4 you get them coated. I don't think paint will last.

Strip, either chemically or like they said above, blast the chrome off the wheels. Find another powdercoater.

a powder coater shouldve known to strip them first. get them dipped to strip the chrome, that will prep them also. then powdercoat.

I agree that you should strip them then powdercoat them. The difference between paint and powdercoat is like night and day.

Have them stripped and powdercoated. Paint is more likely to chip.
