here is what i did
I used a wax and grease remover, sanded with 220, then used a flexible primer made for plastic, did three coats sanding in between.(i still have some texture, the primer had some fill, but not enough). I then painted with a Binks hvlp, i had to have some paint mixed up at an auto paint store. then cleared with duplicolor truck and suv clear. let it cure, wetsand and buff.
I didnt fill the texture in all the way but oh well, last night i wetsanded and buffed it out, it is a little smoother now
