When I painted my faces on my wheels, I used a Scotchbrite pad to ruff it up a bit, then I used Bulldog Adhesive Promoter and then painted it. After 4 months or so, not a chip on it and I have been through some nasty roads.

If your looking to paint the chrom bumper part of the truck. I reccomend sandblasting it all then powder coat it. Buddie of mine did it and it worked awsome. If you are doing plastic sand the heck out if it till the chrome is gone then use a etching primer for plastic and spray it. Just did mine this week looks awsome.

Painting chrome probably won't last. Chrome is only as good as the process that it takes to do so, and unfortunately, the factory chrome is not that great. Eventually the chrome will flake, bubble and peel, and along will go the paint, if it doesn't chip prior to that.

oh yeah you cant just paint chrome and expect it to stick. that **** would fall off the first bug that hit it lol. i was referring to what steps are necessary to remove the chrome to paint the surface and it not look like crap lol.
