What size tip is your gun? What grit did you sand with? Don't sand the basecoat.

HVLP is high volume low pressure

I doubt he has the ability to measuure the pressure at the tip/cap. Pressure at the gun is different from pressure at the tip/cap.

This is a nice little read. http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/hv...gun_basics.htm

The primer is evercoat feather fill g2 premium polyester primer surfacer. It's hard as **** when it dries. I had some dry on the back of my gun (outside) and it wouldn't come off. I sanded the whole thing with 500 wet between primer coats. Then last night I spent hours block sanding with 1000 wet. The paint is matrix paint. It's not top of the line but better than omni I used on my car before. It's down the road made by ppg. As in made company that's headed by a company that was bought out by ppg. My father-n-law always used ppg but I can't offord it t the moment. I've been spraying with 45psi but whith the gun open it sits right at 40 psi. Nice test shape and tiny particles.

There is a small filter that goes in the bottom of the gravity feed can. Is that ok to use with mettalics?
