Default Painting wiper arms with rattle can

The finish has worn off of my wiper arms and they look like poo...half aluminum color and half faded black. I want to pop them off and sand them and spray them with a rattle can. Question is, what color do I get? Is it flat black, or semi-flat or what? Should I prime them first, or just lay a few coats on. Thanks!

IMO if they are steel then sand them down and use some self etching primer, then paint... I am not sure if etching primer works on aluminum....

I thought they were a matte black from the factory... could be wrong though... mine are faded too.

Yessir, they're some sort of matte, just not sure if they would be considered flat or semi-flat. On mine, the paints worn off, so the wipers are half silverish and half black.

I think a color match on the wipers is a little ricer..... just my opinion though.

Hit 'em with a satin black IMO. Be easier to clean then flat. It'll look good any black you choose though.

I would just scuff them up, no reason to take them to bare metal, hit them with gloss black. Dirt will have more of a tendency to stick to a flat paint.

Semi-gloss would look nice!
