holy spelling errors batman

It has been my experience that 95% of the people on here will tell you to go with a 99-06 Silverado/Sierra... as that is what most of us drive and find easy to mod. That being said... its up to you what you want, if you want a LS based truck id suggest getting just that (99+). How much money are you looking to spend just outta curiousity and what are your goals with it?

Btw I dont believe the trucks ever came with LT1s... before the LS motors 96-98 I believe was 4.3s, 5.7 vortecs... cant remember if they still ran the 305 or not. before that 88-95 was non vortec 5.7s, 305s, 4.3s I believe. before that was all carbd aside from the blazers/suburbans and I think one year (1987) for the fullsize truck was TBI. Then of course you have your big blocks and diesels in all these combos too

For the ease of building big power, I would choose an older 454SS. I just like the big block grunt and I've seen several for sale locally for under 4-5 grand. Drop a stroker crank and go carbed, cam, and headers and you're looking at an easy 500 HP. If it's in the budget, a set of aluminum heads...

Either that, or a V8 S-10 swap...

yep sorry no lt1 trucks
you can find used 5.3 all over this site and others for under a grand, you could do heads and a cam and drop it in about anything and make some decent power

or you can get a 98-02 with 4.8 or 5.3, get a built tranny then you options are limiltess.
many people do 6.0l or 6.2l swaps from the larger trucks, then if you look into forced induction there are many ways too go there too

So the big Questions are what is your horse power goals? and how much money can you put into it?

And be prepared to look around for a while. I don't know what things are like in your part of the world, but I ended up going to Oklahoma to buy mine several years ago...couldn't find any for sale around here!

If you don't find an LS based truck get a GMC Syclone IMO.
