how smooth is that tailgate cover? I am thinking about painting that but am wondering how much work it is.

Thanks,
Andrew

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

I like this new (yeah I know it's stock ) setup much better and I agree it has a more "sophisticated" look. To answer a few questions you guys asked. The paint job came to $450 and included painting all four lower sections of the box, all plastics for the bumper (including spare tire lock cover), filling in screw holes from roll pan and painting that area, all plastics for the tailgate, and of course the tailgate itself. The paint itself is very smooth on the textured plastics. You can still barely notice some of the texture but you can't feel it. About the exhaust, I cut the piping that exited out the center of the roll pan off just before the axle and had some 35 degree turn downs welded on.

Yeah the paint work turned out awesome and like Ryan said, the color matches MUCH better than before. The body shop that did the work will definitely be getting my business again.

I am also curious as to what you did with the exhaust.
You should do it! Your truck would look really good in all silver.

idk maybe cause its cause im 16 and most of yall are older but.... i loved the old way it was, this new way is just a lil to plain for my tastes. maybe if the chrome woulda been matched to the rear like a z71 tahoe it would have a lil custom look or something. the covers look very very clean though.
