since your goin with hids, you could run the 9005s instead. because hids are 35 watts with 3 times the light of 55watt bulbs, and the fogs in the new trucks are like 40 watts or so, so you should be safe.

i have a 2004 gmc and am running 9005 hid bulbs in my fogs with no problems been ruinning for about 2 months

The 9005 bulbs will eventually burn up the fog lights. It will turn them blue then black inside. I had it happen on my 03. Has anyone tried a 880 bulb? I have them in my denali and i used them in my 03 sierra with no problems. Silverstar makes a 880 also.

I was going to say that I'll try fitting a set of 9005s but just read that mrb04 and 03sierraslt did it. Hum... I guess the next thing would be to find lights that are a direct replacement, will accept the 9005 bulbs and have glass instead of plastic.

the plastic will melt for sure. Mine did.
