Not trying to be a dick and follow your posts with something negative, but that's not a very good reason not to get a rollpan. If somebody hits you and it's their fault, they're paying for it.

Rollpans look 10x better than stock bumpers and many have them for weight reduction too. I would have one but I can't afford the damn paint costs for them.

Yea, i totally agree with you, they clean it up real nice and take off quite a few #'s but personally, i would rather have some support back there just in case. I can't afford to be out of a ride for any number of days just cuz someone can't use the brakes. having a bumper helps on the "my bad" kinda hits, but it doesn't really matter what you have back there if someone comes up hard on ya.

its really just a matter of comfort.

I was just making sure he knows the pro's and con's.

im always leave a little room in front of me and watch the rear view as the person behind me stops. ive had to give the guy more room to stop behind me more than once

Yeah but you can swap out a bumper yourself, a bent tailgate and most likely bed floor means downtime at the body shop, to some its not worth it. Im jut going to get the plastic painted to match my truck since I need the bumper for a step into the bed anyway.

Same here. The guy that hit me was already stopped. I was at the light and he was behind me, there is no turn light so you just wait until the traffic light is green and there isn't any oncoming traffic. But when the light turned green the guy behind me went and he couldn't quite get past my hitch.

but none the less. I'm with the others, if you want a hitch and a roll pan just get the hide away hitch that goes behind the plate. Real clean look without taking away its main purpose in life.
