rusty brake dust spots on white truck, how to remove safely?
im ASSUMING this is brake dust, as its happened to my white 97 z71, and my white 06 crew cab shortly after new front pads were installed. they just look like little black dots that are rusting stuck to the side of the truck. you really gotta scratch at em with your nail to get them off, and they survive every car wash in my county. lol whats a safe way to remove it? i wanted to buff and wax up my truck here soon, but now with little metal flakes stuck to it. seems risky.

I agree i have to remove rail dust and spots like this all the time, claying it and a good coat or 2 of wax does really well, but as stated above, it will eventually come back again at some point

i clay barred my whole truck. i know exactly what ur talking about..i thought they were actual rust spots starting to come through the paint, but i noticed in on my dually bedsides also, which are fiberglass. mothers has a claybar kit you can pick up at any autoparts store for like 20 bucks. comes with the clay bar, some detail polish and a microfiber cloth. works wonders with a little elbow grease.
