Salt is here... blah. Should I undercoat?
So today was pretty much the first day of snow that we've gotten in Western PA (that I know of). Made it the entire way to work with no salt... pull in the parking lot and boom you'd think it was ****** snowmageddon
I hadn't given much thought to undercoating but the one guy I was working with said he has one of the local undercoat jobs. Anyone have any experience with it and if so what are your thoughts and impressions?
I intend to keep this truck as my dd for a few years and I'd like to keep the underneath as clean as possible.

Rubberized undercoating is ok if the surface is prepared correctly. If it's not, the undercoating will eventually crack and separate from the metal and provide a place to hold water/mud and salt. The end result years later is usually a rust hole that is being hidden behind a thick layer of rubber. Several manufacturers will not honor a corrosion warranty if the rubberized stuff is used. The better coatings remain soft like cosmoline but do nothing as far as sound deadening or chip protection like the rubberized stuff.

I have been using rubberized undercoating since brand new on my truck and never had a problem.
I just go to the carwash and rinse the frame and spray it on
the truck is a 05

Yes undercoat would be a good idea, but be reminded it will add some weight also make sure to cover some sensors before applying it. I heard some people would spray some wd40 as their protection to salt. has anyone tried this?
