Shaved my antenna
Moved the antenna into the fender and added the Escalade cover. Turned out really good, but now I have to figure out how to get AM reception.

I did that a while back and their is a definate drop in reception on mine. It's ok when near town, but going on a trip I have to rely on the cd player cause it looses the stations quickly. I have been kind of debating on putting it back up.

That's a cool and original idea. The FM reception has to be terrible now though. I didn't like the look of my stock antenna either so I decided to get a stubby 12" antenna from Stylin Trucks. It looks alot better and the reception is still good.

Very nice! I didn't know about the Escalade cover! I just took mine off, cause I was sick of watching it whip in the wind and FM blows anyways. Sirius all the way! Kinda redneck I guess though. I'm gonna have to look for an Escalade cover now. Thanks for the idea!

I haven't had any loss of FM reception, but I haven't gone outside the city to see if it drops off quicker. AM reception is gone and it has a terrible whine from the engine now. I listen to sports talk occasionally so I'm going to do a little research and see if I can come up with a cheap solution for that. The escalade cover part # is 15287179 and costs $10.
