I noticed my moms 2000 Impala has the antenna on the rear window. Its a bunch of small strips of flat wire like the heater but for the antenna. Perhaps it can be installed on a truck as well.

I just did mine this weekend, it's amazing how much the little things do to clean up a truck. The reception did go down pretty badly though. If I go on a trip outside the metro, I'll probably just put it back to stock since it only takes 5 minutes. Or maybe it is time to get XM in the truck.

To help the AM reception, I took a 3 foot wire and put ring terminal on it. Ran it along/under thefender, and hung it. Its not perfect, but it will help you AM a little. I have the sirius radio too, and relocating the factory antenna actually helps the sirius get better reception. Im going to use the factory cap because Im thinking of using the hole for my nitrous purge.
