Default shaving the cap off headlights

Anyone have any info on this? i've heard of it but cant find any info on it...

Pretty much you shave down that painted on cap on the tip of your certain headlights to gain more light.

I thought I read you could shave the mounting tab on a high beam bulb and put it in the low beam spot.

yea you can do that but the paint on the end of the headlight you can shave that also i heard.
