My residual glue came right off with a little mineral spirits on a rag. Just give it a couple of minutes to fully soften the glue.

I am wondering if there is an easier way to do this, there has to be some chemical or something you can put on there to break the double sided tape and adhesive crap off. Or am I wrong and this is the only way?

i used a heat gun and some fishing line and worked the fishing line under the moldings (wraped around each and and then holding it on the top and bottom of the molding pulling across ) to get the goo of, i used a 3m adehsive remover ( walmart i think its like $3-$5 a can ) small dark colored can worked great.
be sure to apply wax after u use it since it will strip the wax off too.
