sleeperLQX plans shared....
Ok guys, slowly getting my truck how I would like it to look. Some may have followed my swap thread, now when I pop the hood it looks & performances like this.
This is my daily driver & my project burb
What I have done:
So my plans so far are:
275, 285, 295, 305 or what?
This is my daily driver & my project burb
What I have done:
- I do plan to leave the truck at its current height, no higher or no lower. Im 6'2 and think its perfect for me. Its a 2wd and the Tbars are maxed to level with the rear end. Truck still is slightly lower that a 4wd, but sits level, and looks better.
- Removed chrome lic plate lights, and replaced with black plastic ones after I broke 1 washing truck
- Debadged rear tail gate.
So my plans so far are:
- Cadillac Diamond Black full paint job (murdered look)
- Painted Grill, Painted Front & Rear bumpers
- Complete debadge including door guards
- VortecMAX badges on side front doors where Tahoe emblems are
- I just ordered some of these for her today as well....
275, 285, 295, 305 or what?

Hankook are good. I had them on 1 of my work trucks, good tires. damn good tires... I was looking at your other thread as well. I thought you bought them, as they were sold out. But I talked to the seller, he had more. Great purchase as well IMO. Im thinking 275/45/20 at my height, just so I can have more of a performance advantage. But from calculation 295/45/20 would be nice, but I dont know what it would look like on the stock rim width.
Ill take pics as soon as. vice versa.

Not sure on the brand, I have a place I can get used tires in new condition for cheap. They sell mud tires the size of my truck, some streets too, & 20s they are lots of them. Im more concerned with size right now than brand.
My stock tires are 265-70-16 which is 30.61 diameter. So I need something that diameter or close to it. A 285-50-20 which is common actually is a 31.22 diameter. Which is pretty big but common. Here is a nice comparison Ive been looking at.
305/35-20
d=28.41
w=4.20
305/40-20
d=29.61
w=4.80
305/45-20
d=30.81
w=5.40
305/50-20
d=32.01
w=6.00
-------------------------
295/40-20
d=29.29
w=4.65
295/45-20
d=30.45
w=5.23
295/50-20
d=31.61
w=5.81
-------------------------
285/40-20
d=28.98
w=4.49
285/45-20
d=30.10
w=5.05
285/50-20
d=31.22
w=5.61
-------------------------
275/45-20
d=29.74
w=4.87
275/50-20
d=30.83
w=5.41
275/55-20
d=31.91
w=5.95
Ive been looking up pics of certain combos. Still cant decide.

Thanks guys. The tail lights, I were going to keep stock, paint the calipers red, and after the blacked out grill, red chevy emeblem. I thought the red lights might work into it all. As well as the voretcMAX emblems on the front doors will be red lettered "max". Just to accent things.

These are the tires I went with. http://www.maxxis.com/AutomobileLigh...rauder-II.aspx They are maxxis tires. Size are 285/50 Tires are huge compared to my stockers as far as width, just like I wanted. Im upgrading my rear end for sure.

Nice project, I like your plans I think that 285/50-20 would be a good size for the tires, that's what I have with a 3ish/4.35ish drop (from 4x4 height), and it seems to be the perfect size for this drop. I think it would work out well with stock height also...a 275/45-20 would be a little short at stock height, I think that the short sidewall would look out of place unless the burb was dropped about 2/4...just my opinion of course. A 305 would fill the wheel wells nicely, but I'm not sure if it will be too wide to clear...you'd definitely get rubbing with the steering wheel fully turned. I guess that a 295 is an option also...but I still like the 285 idea
