Im gettin ready smooth some stuff out and was thinking maybe around 220 grit but I haven't tried it out yet
I wouldn't go anything to rough I'd rather sand more than have to get a new piece!

dont make to much work for urselfs guys clean the parts scuff with a red scuff pad real good spray some 2k primer wet sand that after it drys with 320 then finish wit 400 and there smooth then put ur color
u guys try and sand the plastic smooth u will be there forever and the primer will give the paint something better to stick to

100 to break off the heavy grit, then 300 to smooth it out. then take it to a body shop and let them do the rest, dont rattle can your front bumper

nope, actually it wont make it harder on the painter, it'll make it easier. i went around asking body shops and each one i went to said they would charge me less if i sanded it down since they were gonna have to sand it down anyways.

well u can do it that way
but im a painter its what i do all day everyday and usually when guys come to the shop asking if it would be cheaper if they do part of the work allways turns into a bad idea like sanding flat spots with 100 grit lol
not sayin ur way is wrong just there are easier and better ways

agreed from a painters point of view, sanding the plastic itself isnt the brights idea to smooth it, do like stated, scuff good with red pad, degrease, clean very very good, then high with 2k primer and sand that, personally i finish it with wetsanding with 600, not 400, but thats just me. you are right tho, painters will charge less for less work they have to do, butttt it doesnt help if they have to fix mistakes made by someone who doesnt know what theyre doing.
