Default speed grille is rusting

i posted this last winter. my speed grille always rusts in the winter. everyone i have talked to last year has never seen theirs rust.

anyone have a rusting speed grille. i have the brushed finish, not the stainless. my friend has a brushed one on his ZR2 and he never sees rust

i was going to post a pic, but i washed my truck a few days ago and cleaned the rust off. i'm sure it will come back soon. it is supposed to get down to 3*F tonight

hmm.. thts real odd.. its not scratched or anything before it started rusting was it?

And ... where did u purchase it from?

it doesn't rust in one particular spot. it is the whole thing. weird thing is that the one below my bowtie rusts, but the one above it does not

i bought it from truckperformance

i know the speed grille has a 1 year warranty, but i was too lazy to take it off and return it

I bought mine when they first came out and never had a problem. All that was available was the brushed aluminum at the time.

I've had the brushed aluminum one for a few years now, 2 or 3 winters, and so far so good. I did see one on a Blazer the other day that was rusted real bad on the passenger's side...I think it had the chrome finish though.

funny thing is mine looks chrome, but the box it came in said brushed. my friend has a brushed, and it looks like a totally different finish. his is dull, where mine is shiny. go figure

Maybe they changed the way they manufacture them, or it might have been boxed wrong
