Question Subs in the bed?

Just an idea, I have a box with two 12" subwoofers I had in my cavalier that aren't being used. How would it sound if I placed these in the bed since my toneau cover is pretty much air tight? Would there be too much dampening from the cab and bed? Rattling may be a problem.

I had two 10" in a box behind the seats, but I didn't like loosing the legroom.

Thanks again gents!

I had two 10s in a bandpass box in the bed of my old 91. I always had a problem with the shaking from the subs. They would literally shake out the rivets that held my cover on. It was a flush mounted bed cover. When the rivets would come out the entire bed cover would just fall in. It was great for those out in the country parties though. Just drop the tailgate and crank the system. You won't know they are playing driving down the road, so unless you like to sit around and listen to music, or as in my case was, get way too many sound ordinance violations, I don't think the rattling is worth it. This coming from my previous experiences.

Only way to do it would be to port through the bed and into the cab if you wanted to be able to hear it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Guess I'll try to work something else out.

I was actually thinking about doing something like this if I were to get a truck. My original idea would need lots of work but I was gunna fabricate metal to connect the cab and bed. I would also cut all the metal out at the front of the bed and back of the cab to make it all one big piece. Then I was gunna weld a bed cover on or just make one and have it run smooth but have it so you still open the tailgate to slide stuff in. THen you would be able to access the bed from the tailgate or from inside.

It's an interesting idea. I've thought about it myslef. I think a flexible, weatherproof boot would be better. I sure these beds needs to flex slightly.
