I know how you feel about things starting to add up. 2 weeks ago, in the span of 3 days:
Some dum *** threw an egg at my truck, left a bunch of tiny paint chips in my door
Driving behind a semi, a rock cracked my windshield which turned into a 2 foot long crack by the time I was done getting where I was going
I've had the truck less than a year and I feel like I am turning in into a

same thing happen to my truck within 2 weeks both of the tail lights where hangin, and the clips where attached. i took mine in to the dealership and they didnt even ask question, the service writer said, "it's very common" got a bran new pair of tail lights. It also scratched my rear quarter panel, like yours

The same exact thing happened to me, except the light was actually still attached and dangling around. Someone on the freeway honked at me and pointed. I was incredibly fortunate though, there was not a single scratch from it.
My dealership said there is a TSB on the tabs...my whole light assembly was replaced under warranty.
