Default Tailgate handle relocator!

[IMG][/IMG]I finally got my handle relocated on my crewcab, it has been a delimit because I didn't like the way the 99-06 looks on the inside and probably the first time you drug something a crossed it would probably break. Well I had a Sir Michaels kit and I tried to use a 88-98 Silverado tailgate handle with it but the bezel would not work everything else did with minor bending on the rods. Long story short I designed a kit that would work the handle and the bezel and I couldn't be more happy with it, very low profile I think I have the only Silverado with this mod![IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Sir Michaels kept on giving me a hard time about building me this kit for my 06 and I am waiting on the tailgate filler panel and the roll pan all of which will be welded in soon!

No I did all the design work and did the welding and painting today and all you have to do is buy the 88-98 handle and the bezel!

Other people have done this before, but it looks nice. There's a few guys on gmfullsize who have done it as well.

I just really don't like the way the stock tailgate handle looks in there and there is pretty much no functionality because I'm pretty sure I would of broke the bulky plastic handle off the first time I hauled something HINCE TRUCK!

I like the 88-98 tailgate handle for this too. I have a 99-06 handle and it's bulky as hell especially behind my bedrug. I need to swap over to an 88-98 handle also.

I have the 99-06 handle on mine and I'm always hauling rims, tires and farm equipment/feed/etc. and it always gets in the way. Surprised I haven't broken it yet.

Anyway you could make another one of those and send it my way?
