Tire & Rim size???

Tire & Rim size???
Ok I have an of RCSB Silverado and I want to upgrade my tires and rims. I'm thinking about getting some 20" SS rims. What size tires fit them and what brands out there that would fit these rims, give the best traction. I don't want the usual ugly truck tires. I want performance tires that won't make me sit and spin when I dump on it.
Also does anyone know of any 5 spoke rims (like mustang cobra, or old IROC Z type rims) that are available for my truck?
I'm looking to spend no more than $1000.00 on the rims alone.
Lastly, will I need to get a programmer or tune to calibrate the speedo? Or can I purchase a certain size tire/rim combo that would be equal to the same overall diameter of my stock rim, resulting in the same calibrations? I wondered this because I don't have the money at the moment to buy a tune along with a tire/rim upgrade.
Thanks guys!

The only other 5 spoke rim I can think of that is a 6 lug is the American Racing RT-S. Your best bet as far as a tire size is a 275/45/20. These will be closest to factory height and you will not need a programmer or custom tune for them. Tire brand/style will also depend on how much you are willing to spend. Others will hopefully have more info on that.

If you like the SS rims, I would say go for those. Also, look at www.centerlinewheels.com as they are having specials and you can pick up some designs for really cheap. Definatley can spend under 1000 there and get a set of 20s. Please realize that you won't be spinning much tires with a very heavy wheel and tire combo. You'd be doing yourself a favor to keep that in mind and go for the lightest wheel possible.
Alot of people like the Toyo Proxes S/T. I considered getting them but found them too expensive. I've got Sumitomo HT-R sports, which are cheaper...but I'm not autocrossing or anything so I don't have any complaints. Nitto makes a new tire called the 420S, and it looks really sweet and is specially designed for trucks. I have Nitto's on my camaro, and you can't go wrong with anything they make.
Popular sizes I would say are 265/50/20 or 275/45/20....with either of these you can also drop the truck 2/4 in the future and not have any problems.

The SS Wheels are really popular now a days! They look very sweet!! The best tire size for a stock look, will be the 275/45/20's for a 20x8 rim.
The Goodyear LS's are pretty good tires and fairly priced and will give you nice grip. But really, I think depending on the tires you select your going to be just over $1000 for brand new 20's and tires!

I picked up my Silver SS wheels for $700. The tires I am buying are Toyo Proxes s/t 285/50/r20 they seem to be pretty grippy, my sis has them on her jeep. Nitto makes good tires too

Yeah I do worry about the weight issue. How much heavier would the SS tire/rim be than the stock 16" steel wheel with general ameritracs on their? My goal is to get a bigger rim and performance tire to better my handling, and reduce my ET a little with better traction. I don't want to lose any time of off my ET. Would switching to the SS rims from what I have help or hinder my times?

Getting traction is a big issue for me because when it rains my truck goes sideways every single time I hit the gas. Plus if I ever floor it from a stop it just sits and spins. I don't want that. I want to just hook up and go!
