The statement made deserved a kick in the nuts. A truck doesn't need any down force it is plenty heavy in stock form with out wings. Down force is needed in a vehicle that is super light for acceleration therefore has a big disadvantage of sticking to the ground.
I don't think he is circle track racing the truck and SCCA type road racing brake ducting won't make a massive difference due to the low speed and short coarse. So unless he is speedway racing the truck he will never see and notice any difference of brake cooling effected from the wings.
In short those wings are for aesthetics ONLY! He likes them great, most of use don't. Plain and simple.
