Want to polish the lip on my 24" Boss 330's..Need some help!
I wanting to polish out the lip on my 24" Boss black/polished lip wheels. I believe it's a high polished machine type finish from what I've been told. What gritt sand paper should I use??

Start with something rough, something in the 150'ish range. Then go to a 220 grit, then I would go with a 400'ish...from there I would go to a 400'ish grit ceramic stone to polish them out. Then you could go up and up with stone's. They take awhile but look very nice when finished!

If you have bad spots i dont see why you would nee anything courser than 1000 grit, the sanding scratches you put in it have to be buffed out.

Normally when you are trying to polish out regular metal to a polished finish it takes ALOT of work.
Start with the following and work your way thru the stages:
400
600
1000
1500
2000
3000
Polish with a glaze for a mirror finish. Also know that after each step for instance the 600 gritt is used to get the 400 gritt scratches gone, then the 1000 gritt is used to get the 600 gritt scratches gone and so forth, take your time, cause if you miss any 400 gritt scratches and you are allready using 1000 its going to take you awhile

The wheels are pretty slick but the have a high polsihed machine finish so I guess I'll have to sand that down with a 300 or so grit and go up from there. If you can polish the lip and your towel turns black it does turn black it doesn't have a clear coat right?
