It's crossed my mind a few times, but never enough to do the pricing. I ran across a place in texas that sales rebuilt cop cars and the accessories. I was interested in getting a Police interceptor and he had plenty. He sales both to Gov't and Public.
You could browse thru and see if he has any lighting systems that might work for ya.

yes i have, i work at a auto electronic store and do alot of the installs. we work for many police, fire and ambulance stations around here. we also do voulnteers trucks. they need a permit for red lights but isnt hard to get. i would warn away from blue lights, becuase most cops will bust ***** about that. i have done a 03 ford harley edition top to bottom. from 2 strobe packs(12 bulbs total) a mini light bar and flashing led in the grill. i like the idea of putting lights on, but i like the hidden look like behind grills, ext. and it can get pricey. lightbars go into the thousands. but if you shop around you can get good deals. we use whelen products, check them out~kyle
