a quick hit with an air hose will usually do the trick to remove the road dirt and dust since it does stick to the tire shine.

On my Denali I use simple green and power wash off and haven't ever had one problem.

When I had my Lightning I did it one time and it didnt run right for over a week, coil packs got wet and took forever to dry out. Cleaned it by hand after that experience lol.

On the way home from work today I was thinking about this more and I remembered that I had bought CD2 engine degreaser in the past and on that engine degreaser it does warn you to not apply the degreaser to hoses and or glass, so it must be pretty powerful. When I used it I was not happy with it and ended up buying some cheap autozone foaming engine cleaner and hit it again and I think that worked better then the $20 kit from CD2.

i forgot about this thread! lol!
over the weekend, i used some foaming tire & wheel cleaner. it worked real well. i sprayed a heavy coat, let it soak for a good 5-10 min, rinse & repeat. then i used meguiars hot shine tire shine and rinsed it and hit it with a air hose. came out great!
