What size tire should I run?!
Okay My current tire is a 275/45R20 which is 29.7" tall and measures 10.6" wide. When I bought this set of tires the truck was just shackled in the rear. It is now 2/4 and the front is rubbing. I trimmed back the fenders, but it still rubs a little due to the offset of the rim. Ive gotten my moneys worth out of these tires and Im ready to buy new ones and I was hoping you all could help me find one that will fix this problem. I looked at a 265/45R20 which is a little less in width and height. I also considered a 275/40R20, which is the same width just not as tall. Here are some pics that may help. My goal is to find a tire that fills the fender as much as possible without rubbing. Thanks
And here is one of the whole truck as it sits now:

the problem with a new tire is that it can measure differently from you old worn out tires even if the newer one is a smaller by tire specs, it could be bigger then your old ones since they are worn.
when does it rub? during a turn? a bump? where at? just in the front fender?
I really wouln't want to go skinnier because the truck in the pics looks good the way it is....maybe try the 275/40 and ask the shop if they can mount just one and see if it rubs, if it still rubs or just rubs less then maybe it would be worth trimming the fender a little more . I think the shorter 275/40 might be better help for gear ratio as well
I also want to add that on different brand tires the same 275/45 (example) could still be off actual measurement +/- a a few mm's from each other

I would do as mentioned and try to mount just one tire size. I have had this happen to me before. I bought tires the exact same size and they rubbed where my old ones never rubbed before.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention that yes it only rubs the front fenders when I hit bumps. Turning left to right is fine. I think that the 275/40 will be much better as far as rubbing goes, but my only concern is that the tire will look to small on the truck. A 275/40 is exactly 1 inch smaller in diameter. Its only dropped 2/4, but it may still look fine. I do like the width of the 275's though. What do yall think?
