Wheel weights
how the hell do you make those little self-adhesive bastards stick
I balance my own tires and wheels at our resorts garage so I know the balance is right, but I CANNOT get those "self-adhesive" weights that go on the inside of the rim to stay stuck to the rim !! (I clean the rims VERY well with alcohol every time).....it says you are supposed to heat the rim with a blow-dryer and then stick them down (that doesn't work), I've gone as far as using a propane torch to heat the rim (that works for about 20 miles), someone said use Duct tape ( as hell looking and comes off in 50-100 miles along with the wheel weights)
so how do you make those stupid little mothers stick ?????

Re: Wheel weights
You know, I had the same problem with throwing weights off of my rims. Same thing, they just don't seem to want to stick.
3M has a adhesive prep pads that you can buy. You clean the spot with alcohol, then you use this preadhesive prep pad and wipe the area to stick, then put the weights on. They stick like superglue with this, but can still be pried off with no rim damage. Mine have not come off yet. Get it at Pepboys, that is the only place I could find it. It is right in the glue section, and they look like a bag of handy wipes.

Re: Wheel weights
A friend of mine used to balance my tires before I started to in auto class. He would always use a lighter to heat up the wheel weights then stick them on. I've never had a problem with the weights coming off! Good luck
