there is a relatively lightweight plastic hard cover on the market now...only in matte black though.
i have a snuglid and i like it....heavy, but so is everything else on my stupid truck.

I like my soft roll up cover, makes it nice for when using my truck as a truck. but if I had to do it over or if I have to replace the tonneau cover, I'd probably go with one of those roll and lock covers, not exactly sure how weather tight they are though.

I would love a roll n lock but they cost to much
That's why I bought a truxedo lo pro. I paid about 400 bucks out the door for it. It is a soft cover but rolls up very easy and is very functional.
Not water tight, I would say 95% stays dry. If there is something by the tailgate by the bed sides it might get a little water on it, not much but a little
