Wooden Beds?
Hi! This is my second post on PT.net.
I'd like to see some wooden-bed trucks. We have one, but it needs restored bad. Just like to know what people do. We also have a 5th wheel.

I'm not new to LS1Tech. Nine Ball set my postcount to that to drive me crazy. It worked.
Yes, we made the truck a fifth wheel. I guess it's a "classic" -- 1980 F150 Flareside. RCSB. 4x4. 3/4 ton springs (HAD to add them). Never had a problem, 'cept we ate one tranny on an agonizingly-long haul up and down bad hills. Still made it home pouring fluid down it. Also, one starter went out a couple years ago. That's it.
Really, really tough truck that's been worked damn hard on the farm, towing, mudding, hauling loads (so much hay we damn near tipped it over one year), and hauling horses long distances every month. It's a monster. Bone stock 'cept a tranny cooler.
I'd love for my parents to get another, then let me drop my friend's 428 Super Cobra Jet down in it. He probably won't sell it, though. Just lets the bare block and heads rot on his shelves... If not, I'll find a 460 to put in it.
I'd like to restore and repaint it back to it's original brown w/ gold flake paint. Re-do the interior all custom tan leather and chrome. Gauges. Put some real wheels and tires on it...
Probably never happen though. Too wrapped up w/ my H/C 99 Z28. White, white leather, 6-speed...

Hey welcome to PT.....your post count makes me jealous lmao..got to love the sense of humer we have around here.
I haven't seen a wood-bed on this forum but have seen a few around town. Absolutely beautiful. They now have kits to install in any bed. These look damn good too.

I am actually in the process of restoring my '76 Chevy stepside. I have already purchased the new oak bed wood that has been pre-cut and drilled. Kind of pricey but worth it. Also all new hardware and metal hold-down strips. The wood will be stained and varnished and hopefully come out lookin good. I'll post pics next week when the truck comes back from paint.
