Default Z71 Lowering Help

Need some advice on lowering the rear of my truck.
It has factory blocks between rear and leaf.
Can I use 2wd U bolts and just remove blocks or will it mess up my pinion angle?
Has anyone done this to a Z71 ?
I know I will have to get an alingment.
All help appreciated.

yes you can use 2wd Ubolts and remove the lift blocks, thats what I did to my Denali truck. Your pinion angle wont be too adversely affected.

Just a quick question, why lower the Z71? I could see a regular 4X4 or a 2X4 but not a Z71. You had to pay extra for the Z71 package why take it off?

The only reason I say this is because once I got to see a lowerd standard 4X4 of my truck I thought the same thing but I could not get past the fact that I paid for the Z71.

My Truck has way too much rake.
I Turned up Torsion bar a little but, I either take blocks out or drive around with
sand in bed to make it level.

I thought the difference was Bilstein shocks but I am not sure at all. Maybe on the 4wd guys will give you a better answer.

i think it is shocks and stickers. really kind of a joke if you ask me.

i know for sure skidplates were a seperate option on my truck and i have no tranny cooler. i have a z71. the bigger tires are a seperate option too i think.
