Default Bed cover suggestions

I'm looking for a bed cover for my silverado. 01 in sig

I want a hard cover. I like the fiber glass covers and found one on truckaddons for $920. not sure of brand may post a link later of it.

I would really like to find one a little cheaper but if thats how much i have to pay for exactly what i want then i'll have to pay.

does any body have any pics of there bed covers. Ones that lift up and are paintable. opinions on quality leaks or anything like that.

This is a current pic of my truck.

This is what i found only google images of what i want truck to eventually get to.

Any help would be awesome.

thanks

Brock

since your truck is black, one of those abs ones might look nice. you`d have to keep it slicked up though. the one pictured looks good. i have a ******** top. its held up well over the past 6-7 years. seals well, has never leaked.

tdrumm and I were talking about hard tops yesterday, and I was checking out his *******'s top, which looks like a quality piece, but as he told me, is real heavy and a PITA to take off. His old SnugTop was lighter and easier to remove, but was having some minor paint issues after a few years, and the damn top almost knocked him on his butt He went to open the top to get something for his son and the left front pin or whatever wasn't all of the way in, and the pressure from the supports shot the top right into face...he had a cut and bruise right on the top of his nose and had to take his boy in the stroller into Bloomingdale's (where he doesn't shop but had a gift certificate), while the rich stuck-ups were looking at him like he was some kind of bruiser or something

He also told me that his dad had a *******'s and the paint all bubbled up, and he contacted *******'s and they sent him $600 to get the top repainted...sounds like a good deal and good customer service IMO.

Personally, I like the *******'s Speedstur...but I don't really like the weight of the damn thing

snugtop and ******** are nicer looking ones. i personally like checkmates too due to their flush look.

i rigged my own with a lil bit of creativity for a total cost of $160 and get lots of compliments. (see pics).

i would suggest you check out your local craigslist auto parts section. i usually see real good bargains there. believe it or not, i found a snugtop fiberglass cover for $40. couldnt believe it. went and saw it. needed mounting hardware but i bought it. since i like mine and i saw it as an opportunity to make money, i turned around and resold for $350 for quick sale and profit for my trucks' fund. i asked the guy why only $40. couriousity was killing me. he said he was going down the freeway and it blew off a truck. he pulled over to get it out of the way, almost got run over, waited for owner to return, didnt come, so he threw on the back of his f250 and strapped it down with tie straps.

be patient and check out craigslist daily, you will find one for alot less than new. good luck.

I bought a checkmate pro fiberglass cover for my 01 that I had and it was flush with the bed instead of going over the bed rails. New with quick release hinges I think I paid 700 shipped! It was nice and it was my second one...I currently have one on my show truck too that was slicked out and painted to match. That's what i would go with IMO!

pm replied. Like i stated in mine and robert (my name is robert too...lol) did in his post, the checkmate fits flush too. Slim edges sit slightly over bed while mine sits completely flush.

Checkmates are a lil more then $700 now but if i was to buy a brand name one, it would be a checkmate. Being on a budget, preferring to spend on performance parts, being creative and liking one of kind stuff, i modded mine. not really weather proof but i got mine more for performance to cut reduce wind drag on tailgate and help mileage.
