The Eaton posi is a nice unit though too that a lot of people overlook all the time....
Hey man, what yer is your Caprice? Is it a 9C1? I replaced the Diff gasket on my '96 Impala with the one for the holes to the axle tubes. Love that diff in there, heh- the love the engine too, I think I've just found a cam for that brute torque build I'm putting together.............

I personally have no idea. After reading this thread I was thinking the regular spring loaded was the best. Before I bought one I looked on internet, found places that sell differentials, called them, told them what power my truck was making, and asked what would be the stongest. I was told by one place a detroit locker would be the stongest but I didn't want a locker. At over 800 wheel hp and torque my truck is not setting any records but it is making pretty good power. From the 5 or 6 places I called when it came to a LSD the truetrac was the only one I got any recommendations on. I bought the truetrac. The price difference between the Truetrac and spring loaded was not enough to make it a factor one way or the other.

Also I bought mine from 4 Wheel Parts and they offered a free replacement warranty if I break it so I got that too. If I break mine I'll sell the replacement and try something else.

Just on street street tires it seems to work good. No more one wheel wonders around corners. My G80 always worked in a straight line so not much difference there. I feel like taking it out in a big parking lot and drifting it all over the place to get a little more used to it around corners.

I put in a Yukon Dura Grip Positration in my truck. Fully rebuildable and has larger bearing journals for added strength & uses heavy-duty carrier bearings & races.

Doesn't whine, used my factory 3:73 gears in it and has been running without any glitches for over a year.
