I wanted to share a little info on the Straub trunnion kit compared to the very good copy that Summit sells for $10 less. I called Summit and asked who the manufacture was and they said they weren't at liberty to say. I then called Straub and asked the man himself. I asked if they were manufacturing them for Summit, his response was, let me just say that China is getting very good at copying specific items all the way down to the packaging. Below are some comparison pics. The ones with no brand are straight from Summits site. This is just for everyones info. I myself buy tons of parts from China but try and stay away form mechanical items.

Old LQ9 out. Saving for another project down the road.
Found an 04 2wd 4l80 in the junkyard. Trans, linkage, sensors, dip stick and cross member for $230. I need to source a 4wd output shaft and tail housing.
Little degreaser and wire brush. It's going to get a rebuild with a few upgrades, red disks, sprag, and maybe some shaft up grades but haven't decided how in-depth to go on it yet.
Pull the front and rear drive shafts, 65e and np149 t-case. Need to shorten the rear shaft and extend the front shaft or just replace it with a 2500 hd front shaft. The T-case is going to be separated, inspected, soft parts replaced and input shaft sent out to get machined to accept the 80e output shaft.
I don't know Summit isn't losing money on shipments with this huge box and little fitting plug.
Little details, re-sprayed the engine bay gloss black, cleaned plastic covers and installed a new washer fluid resi.
ICT billet alternator and power steering brackets also go painted. P/N 551520-3
Change of plans for valve covers. The Snipers are nice and fairly cheap, FYI they do not have vent tubes. I'll be evacuating crank case from the valley cover.
Boltdepot.com has great prices on hardware. Stainless allen head bolts are soo much cheaper than fancy ARP dress ups.

the boom is too short, I had to remove the front bumper and push it up against the lower core support. I think their big stronger hoist is also longer. If you haven't used it I would return it and get the bigger one. They are always on sale.
