too much sidewall. i have the 285/50 and i personally think its alot of sidewall. iw oudl have rather got 295/40 (too expensive) or some 275/45(didnt want to wit to ship) i know 28.5 centimenters x .50 = 14.25 cm of sidewall and 29.5cmx.50=14.75cm of sidewall and the difference isnt numerically that much but i dunno. i guess its personal preference. plus your on a drop. i think 285/50's would even look too big on a 2/2 drop but thats just me

hey, thanks for the reply, now you just got me all mixed up lol. i was ready to order the 295/50/20 Nitto NT404's, but now you got me thinking it could be too much sidewall. now back to the drawing board.....

nah man, don't worry about it. i'm glad you spoke up, because i would not have thought of those things.

of course, another problem, there are no local dealers of Toyo or Nitto. besides, seeing them without being mounted on a rim they will look completely different. thanks for the suggestion though.

what do you guys think about a 285/40/20? i can get the Nitto 420s in that size, but the sidewall will be about 4.48inches compared to stock sidewall of 5.95inches. am i gonna be riding on rubber bands if i go that route?

no, i think that size is about perfect for a drop. its not like the sidewall is straight up and down, pressurized it curves out so i would be willing to bet it owuld only be about 1/2 ro 3/4 in shorter over all

Holty, I would go with a 285/50 if you're looking for the low profile look while still maintaining "some" sidewall. I have been researching this subject alot lately, and have decided to go with a 275/55/20 just due to the fact, I will be staying at stock height, and don't need a "performance" application.

BTW, Why are you doing a 2/2 Drop, instead of 0/2 or 2/4??
