All I took from that article that suprised me was 9.5" rear and 4l85e transmission. Those two thing are very nice additions. As well as the statement that they are building up the drivetrain for more power. Very Nice.

The 2WD Silverado SS features a new 9.5-inch ring gear in the rear differential that will be offered in more models next year.

Also making the SS package available in LS trim is a good idea, gets the price down.
I can see it now 2007-2008 RCSB SS 6L80E, 9.5" axle, LS7 power, or boosted LS2.

Is it just me or does that truck look kinda tall? I agree with the fact that GM needs to come out with a RCSB SS. The only difference is I'd like to see something reminescent of the 60's muscle cars: basically 4 wheels and a big motor with power nothing (except for power steering and air conditioning of course). All of what you need; none of what you don't.
