PROBLEM WITH K&N COLD AIR INTAKE
I just installed a k&n cold air intake on my 2004 vho and now i am getting a little lifter chatter when i give it some gas at around 40 and 60 mph. It is making the same noise as if i was using 87 octane gas (i use 93 octane). My only other mod is a custom manaflow cat back exhaust and this started right after i installed the k&n cold air intake. Has anyone experienced this and am i damaging my engine should i remove the cold air intake
thanks

I have a similar noise in mine after my K/N install. It sounds like a tick to me and I thought it was a header gasket leak but checked it several times an found nothing.
I put it down to just a change it the sound of the vehicle with the different filter.
I also check my timing and KR to make sure it wasn't ping as well, and that was ok.

I would say where its a open filter you will hear more of the motor. I have been running the fipk for a few years now on my ss and its fine.

My Gmc Sierra VHO is stock and I noticed the other day that when I get on the gas hard you can hear the same chattering. Just as you said, it sounds like cheap gas. Hopefully mine will change after I change cams, rockers. springs and pushrods.
