Default Real Joe Gibbs truck

I recently bought a Joe Gibbs ECSB with low miles and excellant shape, but it doesn't have the plaque inside the dash, no emblems on the wheels, chrome bumpers, and the little stickers were removed buy the factory but I got them when i got the truck. It has everything a reg. JG truck would have the wheels suspension, brakes, gauges, exhaust even the certificate saying its a JG truck. I just don't know if it really is or not i haven't seen any others like it? Does all 2wd have rack and pinion steering b/c i was thinking of puting it on my 69 chevy? Also I was thinking of putting some parts on my truck and seeing what everyone thinks of it;Pacesetter LT, ORY, TSP 220 .581", yANK 3000 stall, K&N cai, TransGo HD2, servos, 918 springs, hardened pushrods, and a tune if any one does them in Kansas.
Thanks
Tom

shouldn't the vin come up as a Joe Gibbs truck? That seems like the easy way to tell.

I have a "Sport" edition. It is just a $5500 trim package. It sounds like what you have. Mine came with Joe Gibbs Shifter (5 speed), gauge cluster, wheels (with no emblem as well as none on the dash), Corsa Cat back, sticker emblems on doors and tailgate, lowering shackles, shocks and billit grill. That is all I can think it came with different from a regular truck.

I'm not sure exactly when they started rack and pinion but it isn't a Joe Gibbs option. Joe Gibbs Performance was only in production in 04-05. From what I can tell 04 was pretty much all loaded out with supercharger and suade seats. I guess sales were down and started the trim only packages (Sport) in 05. I'm unaware of sales numbers.

Unfortunately no the vin wont tell you. Because joe gibbs bought base model trucks and put there stuff on them and yes in 05 they came with alot less items on the truck.
