Will a silverado ss rearend swap into a non ss silverado? If so what is the best way to identify the ss rearend?

I dont think theyre any different from a normal silverado with the exception of bigger gears perhaps.

You are sort of right. I believe it was the 2wd SSS trucks that had a 14 bolt rear end. The 4wd SSS trucks had a 10 bolt. I could have that backwards.

I think KYSilverado or someone has done this swap.

Yes it's pretty much a straight bolt in. I'm not sure about the yolk mating up to the driveshaft but the spring perches are the same distance and everything else will work. Basically short answer is that it will work with minimal to no modification.

The AWD 10 bolt has an 8.625" ring gear, 4.10 ratio. The RWD 14 bolt has a 9.25" ring gear, 3.73 ratio. All models have an Eaton G80 locker.

Acc. to Fireman 31, it comes w/. 4.10s, so I read that as no different 10 bolt than yours other than gear ratio. Same ring gear, same G80- I'd pass unless it's the 14, but it's your $. A set of 4.10s isn't worth effort to me of a rear to rear swap. Unless that's what u want or u get out the door for a song. My .02.

The 10 bolt is a POS, if you can find a 14 bolt with a 6 lug setup then grab it, but it will not be easy to find......most will be an 8 lug out of 3/4 ton trucks...
