Silverado SS recommendations

I actually went with Silver Birch Metallic instead of Black because this was my daily driver and didn't want to look at a dirty truck every time it rained. But I still end up cleaning it just as much if it were black. Next truck will definately have to be black.
So if you're buying an SS, it almost has to be black...
And if you're going to drive it every day, AWD is the way to go.

All Silverado SS's have the LQ9 6.0L
I have on 03 SS and love it! I pull my boat all the time and it does great. I get about 318 miles a gallon going 73 mph on the highway. If you get a good stall converter the launch of the AWD SS's can be rediculous. Check out my launch, some people say I launch as hard as the radix guys...

Not trying to stir anything up, but want to pass on my experience. I have a few mods, heads, cam, stall, tune, etc... Nothing earth-shaking, but the only mod I made that had any noticeable impact on my mileage was the addition of the stall. I lost a little more than .5 mpg on average. More time city driving and I would probably lose more. I believe the key to having the performance without sacrificing the mileage is a good tune. There are several guys outh there who can tune and it is money well spent. 20 mpg average will probably not happen, but you can easily have a low 13 second truck that can still tow and average 16-17 mpg.

Silverado SS recommendations
I just made a deal to buy my friend's SS. I will pick it up on Monday. It is a loaded black 04 with 3300 miles on it. I can't wait!
