Default SS Bumper Question...

Is it true that you need like 8 brackets to install a factory SS bumper on a regular Silverado?? and that you have to get a different bumper (chrome piece)??

They are as follows:

You need:

(1) 15182637 (#13 in the diagram)
(1) 15182636 (#13 in the diagram)
(4) 15181856 (#14 in the diagram)
(2) ????????? GM changed the part number so I don't know what the new one is. It is #15 in the diagram.

Those filler pieces I was talking about use the below listed part numbers. I'm still trying to find my pics.

You need 1 of each:
89044506 (#6 in the diagram)
89044507 (#6 in the diagram)

I'm pretty sure that you don't. What year truck are you trying to put this on? The "ss bumper" is really just a cover, and it's held on by "clips" on the corners. Some just just 3m double sided tape to hold it down. In the end, if you have an 03 truck with the regualr bumper, the "SS bumper/cover" just fits right over the entire bumper.

If you have a 99-02, you have to use the Street Scenes bumper cover
