Vortec Max.. 4L80E?? DOD?>
I'm looking at an 08 Vortec Max.. Can anyone give me the full skinny on them? I haven't been able to find too much via search.. Maybe it's the way I'm searching. Thanks in advance.

wats up man, well i have an 07 vmax and they are definitely nice. If you are gettin this truck for performance i would suggest gettin the 09 with the 6 speed cause the transmissions are the weakest link in these trucks. I have a custom tune, intake, and exhaust on my crew cab 2wd vmax and iv ran a best of 14.2 @96 with a little bit left in her. But hope this helps if u have any more questions just let me know

More for towing and driving. I already have a performance truck (well I guess two, the TBSS as well).
So you say the trans is a weak link, I'm assuming that means it is a 70E but not an 80E?
Do all of these come with 4.10's?
I don't know much about them so please fill me in..

ok no problem, ya i mean the 4L70E is a turd, iv blown 4 of them so im about to get mine built. The only way to get the 80E is the 09s and they are supposed to be bad ***. And no they come with 373s unless u get the 4x4 im pretty sure. But thats why the 09 or 2010 is the way to go
