Which would you pick?
The '06 SS Silverado or the '06 Joe Gibbs ECSB 5.3 supercharged?
Obviously the Gibbs has more power, but the SS can always have a supercharger/turbo put on it to make it more powerful.

I'm a huge fan of shifting my own gears. I would love to have a 4.8/5 speed supercharged gibbs truck. Anyone can just mash the gas and hold the steering wheel. This is the major reason why I haven't sold my Z28 yet (t-56 6-speed). I really want to get a 99+ LS motor 1/2ton truck, but finding one that is a 5-speed is kind of difficult.

P.S. I just realized you are looking at a 5.3 gibbs truck, which doesn't have the option for a stick...So if it was a question between the SS and a 5.3 auto Gibbs truck I would go with the 6.0 SS. Slap a supercharger on it and hold on!

Neither. I'd get a Silverado 1500 with the VortecMax package (6.0L LQ9, 4L70E trans, and 9.5" rear end). You can't get the beefed-up 4L70E tranny in the SS (the SS only has the 4L65E), it only comes in the VMax package.
