Im in the feild. What is your question? I hope I can help you out some. This feild is fun but overrated if you ask me. The pay isn't there and you will have a lot of responsibilaties. The jobs are getting harder and harder to find that pay good money. Watch the news and you will see airlines laying of all the tme and sending jobs out of the country. Its a fun job, I love what I do but I dont think I would reccomend to someone. I say go to college, try to get in with a high end car manafacture as a mechanic, or a specialty trait like electrician or so. Ask away and I hope I can answer some questions.

Im in the Air Force and work on avionics systems, I currently make about 3500ish after taxes a month, so Im happy with the pay. But the flightline is no easy line of work. You must fix jets in as little time as possible, and be sure that what ever you fixed isnt going to kill somebody. Not to mention, for the most part, we work out in the elements, blistering heat, the cold, wind, rain, snow, it does not matter. It is challenging, it is rewarding, you get to see some cool ****, if your in the military you go to awesome places, like vegas, panama city Florida, blow bad guys up in the desert. And Ive never been shot at. If you got any questions ask and Id be more than happy to answer them.

ces63ss- This is good advice. My cousin is an electrical specialist with Boeing and makes very good money. so I guess if you are specialized then you wont have too much problems finding work. But on the other hand getting hired when you are green might be another thing.

they are no longer Garrett Aviation. there new name is StandartAero. I work for them also but in Los Angeles.LOL. Long story short we are no differrent then any other company out there. If you are serius about being an A&P try to get on board with either ups or fed-x. they are the leaders as in every way you can think of.
