Flying out to Ft. Lauderdale for vacation July 2-6, and just really wanted to get some good ideas on things to do while I am out there. We are staying at a hotel on the beach (obviously). She and I wanted to do some of the following things.

- Deep Sea Fishing (Which company is the best to go with? Theres lots of different businesses, not sure which would be the best)
- Jet Ski rentals (I personally love riding jet ski's in the ocean)
- Places to eat (on the water preferably)
- Other things to do

Since we will be there for July 4, is there any events that take place that are pretty cool to go to?

Any information is appreciated!

If anyone is curious why we chose ft. lauderdale, well it's because SW was having a killer deal on flights at the time to Ft. L and we got them for right under 200 RT.

Fishing isnt garunteed... Sometimes the smaller boats can catch bigger fish.
What hotel are you staying at?
Jet Ski Rentals are all up and down fort Lauderdale beach.
Tons of Resturants up and down A1A.. Type of food and cost?
Going out......Bar Scene?

Gawd, I haven't been there in years but I used to hang out at the Button, the Elbow Room and Penrods, the Pink Pussycat and the Dollhouse

There's probably more trouble to be had in Ft.Liquor than Las Vegas.

Oh I have another big question. How is the POPO with drinking on the beach?

yeah I figured fishing would be hit or miss, either way it can't be worse then when I went out in Galveston Bay a month back haha.

Any type of restaurant I guess. Im not a big ritzy spender, so something cheap since I am not sure if the hotel does breakfast or not. As much as I LOVE spending 3x meals for 5 days.. lol

Yeah any bar scene would be good. I wonder if going to Miami for one night would be too crazy..

I know Bahia Mar, it's on the south end of the strip if I recall correctly. Across from the Marina I used to work at.

Walk across the 17th street bridge to the Marriot, they have free food and good **** too! during happy hour. I used to eat like a king for free every day and beer wasn't too expensive.

There's Yesterdays if you want to mingle with the hih rollers. I met Sammy Davis Jr and Vanessa Williams in there. Drive your Ciggerette right up!


Just so you know, I was there when Miami Vice was just starting to be a real popular tv show...I saw and did things that show was written about Wild times in the 80's

I'm gonna re-watch some of the old miami vice stuff, and re play it out when I get there lol.

Any idea if they will slap the cuffs on me if im drinking on the beach? Or give out tickets?
