Default Houston guys, I'm looking to rent your engine hoist

Anybody in Houston have an engine hoist I could rent? Right now my 6 liter is at my office and I'd like to get it to my house. We're relocating our office and I need to get that thing home pretty quick. I will be doing a cam swap before it goes in the truck...so it won't be going in the truck right away. I'll need a hoist to get the engine home and on the engine stand, then later on(next month), I'll need the hoist to install the 6 liter.

Anybody in Houston have a hoist I could rent? It will be garage kept. I'd rather not buy one if I don't have to, so any help would be appreciated

Check some of the equipment rental places in the yellow pages if no one has one you can borrow.

I'm sure the equipment rental places would charge by the day or something, I'd have to pay for 3-5 days by the time I'm done transporting and installing. That's why I'd like to rent one from a member if I can.

I am is the same boat as you and called a few places around here and the lowest quote I got was $65 a day!!

So I just bought one for $200 from AutoZone, 2000LB lift, looks great, and won't have to worry about returning it.

Look around for one local and you'll fine one.

Thats $200 I would rather not spend. I have already priced them....northern tools has a hoist and leveler package for $200, just dunno if buying one will pay off...this may be a one time deal.

cool, but as I said, I may need it longer than a day or two.

I can get it home with the hoist, return the hoist then rent it again when I go to install the engine....but all that's going to take a little longer than a day or two.
