In my budget, that's high. But, some people are willing to go that route. That said, the upgrade my wife received is regular priced at $38xx, but was on sale from $2500 (who knows what the ACTUAL value is). I'd be looking in the $3000 to $4000 range if you have no kids and no plans of having any immediately. I have three kids now. My budget's tighter than yours.

Zales has the same policy. That's why I got my wife the upgrade.

Thanks for the advice, I have no clue when it comes to this stuff. I can afford what I have been looking at, but honestly I don't if that is what I should buy. I am emailing her sister now and seeing what she has to say.... Hopefully I can get an inside track on the whole thing...

i bought the one for my ex from zales and they have an excellent upgrade policy.....by the way the ring i have is for sale...lol ......solitaires are VERY VERY expensive because the cut and clarity of the stone have to be perfect.....if you want to go solitaire route i would buy a certified diamond online and get a setting made.....diamond can go from 1000 to $XXXXX for a nice solitarire and settings can be had from 200-1000 dfepending on metal used.....if you go to zales they can explain everything.....personally i like the look of the three stone rings which is what i have for sale

Well good news her sister just emailed me back and she is going to help me!!!! I am getting kinda worried about what she is going to suggest, they come from money and basically my GF probably makes more on her investments alone than I make in entire year....
