Well I just went up the jewelry store in the mall to see what these things look like. And her sister gave me some recommendations on what she would like. I know the cut, metal color, size and roughly the price range I want. So I guess I will start shopping around to see where I find a good price. Thanks for everyones help, her birthday is coming up at the end of March, so I think that is when I am going to give it to her.... I just got to start planning the proposal now....

Ya think? It has meaning behind why I choose that date. Last night she said something like this.
Since it is her 30th birthday coming up, I thought I would propose the day before that way she would at least be engaged by the time she was 30... IMO my GF will love it!! Not to mention all the candles, rose pedals, me in a suit or Tux (she has never seen me it either), etc...

This is what I'd go for, the better quality over the size. VVS/f-g. My father bought my mom's ring, it's a beautiful diamond, and not quite a carat. .82 VS1 G , and it's the cut, really makes the diamond bang.
